Growing Up?

My kids call one of their grandmothers Nendny. Lucas and Jacob go over to Nendny and Papa's house frequently and absolutely love it. My mom has been bugging me for awhile now about Caleb coming over to her house. I brushed it off and just kept saying that he wasn't old enough yet and really never thought anymore about it..I would quickly push it out of my mind because honestly I didn't want to think about it. The thought of him not being in my house when I went to bed at night...of not being able to walk in his room after he's asleep and cover him one last time and kiss him sweet little face scared me to death. I worry about the small stuff....I stressed over the fact that he drinks alot of orange juice and she drinks it with pulp and he might not like it so I needed to make sure I told her to get pulp free(which she would have done in a heartbeat!) but my mind just went in every direction. A few days ago she kept asking me about him spending the night so I finally gave in...She wanted to come and get him on Wednesday so he could spend the night and then she was going to get the other two boys for a few days after that. Honestly from that second that I agreed I stressed..I lost sleep..I worried. I mentioned it to him Tuesday night and started talking it up to him and he was soooo excited! He kept saying that "He was going to Nendny's and going to spend the night." My stomach was in knots when I got up yesterday morning and I honestly I realized that he was probably ready but I was absolutely not. So when he got up from his nap it was time for her to come pick him up and he was very happy..she got here and he told her he was going to spend the night with her so we got his stuff and I went to go put his carseat in her car.........HE DIDN'T MOVE. He wanted to go bye bye in my car...but he wouldn't go near hers. After about 15 minutes of talking I realized that he wasn't going to go...he quickly changed his mind and said that he didn't want to go and that he wanted to stay home. Of course the other two took the opportunity to go one day earlier so they're gone now but I still have my baby boy. People may think he's a big boy but inside he's still a momma's boy and I might be a horrible person but oh how I love it and just like that...no more stress..no more knots in my stomach..and last night as I tucked him and gave him a kiss before I went to bed last night I was extra thankful for my little boy.

I love this face!

As soon as they left this is where he was at...happy and at home!

Batter Up

Jacob had his first game of the season last Saturday since Opening Day got rained out. He was so excited..his game wasn't until 12:00 that day but he took what he thought was his uniform the night before and was ready to get dressed at 8:00 the next morning when he got up. It's great to see him so into something. Jacob's favorite color is blue and his team this year is the Dodgers..he couldn't have been happier. He was blue from head to toe and he even put on blue power ranger underwear.....so incredibly cute. He wants to be grown up and big like his brother but inside he really is such a little boy..I love to watch when that pureness comes out. He had a great time and played great. Of course as soon as it was over he wanted to know when he got to play again and was ready to go! With him playing/practicing two days a week and Lucas at 3 we have baseball almost every night of the week so I think they'll have enough by the time the season is over.

David constantly says that he has the right posture...this kid has loved baseball since he was little and Lucas was playing. If he keeps it up and really puts his heart into it I believe he's going to be a great player!

I LOVE this one!

Carrots and Puffs

Well when we went to the doctor last week Allie's doctor said that I should try to start introducing her to table food so we tried the other night. I was extremely nervous and honestly I don't know why...she's not my first and I've fed 3 others for the first time in previous eight years so I shouldn't be uptight about it but I was. I was terrified!!!! I was so scared that she was going to choke or something was going to happen and I would panic and not know what to do. Anyhow..we started with diced carrots. I put them on her plate and she played with them for a while but couldn't connect the dots that you had to pick them up and actually put them in your mouth. I put the first one in her mouth and she DID NOT like it at all!!! I couldn't help but laugh when I saw her face. I tried a couple more but she never really warmed up to them so I took them off her plate. After that we put those Gerber Graduates Puffs on her plate and she immediately knew that what she was supposed to do with them..she put the first one in her mouth and ate away. Every night since then she's snacked on them at dinnertime but still no carrots..we'll have to work on those.

Loose Ends

I've been meaning to do this post for a while but I'm just now getting around to it. I won this over St Patty's Week on Jessica's blog. If you haven't seen her blog you should check it out..she has an adorable little boy and is an awesome scrapbooker..she also has some great giveaways! I love this album..it's a leather bound 12x12 but it's different in the way that it closes and looks like a box. I just love it!!!! It's also D Ring and I much prefer those to post bound albums..I think I am going to do Allie's 365 album in it but I haven't decided yet.

I bought these hats from Veronica several weeks ago and told her that I was going to post about them..I'm sure she's looked thinking "What kind of drug is that girl on? she's never going to post" I wanted to try and get them on Allie so I could show you pics of them instead of just laying them flat and I just got around to it today. They're alittle big because I bought them for next winter so we're a couple of seasons ahead right now. I am absolutely in love with these hats...for those of you that don't know Veronica she crochets these little hats and does a phenomonal job!!!!! If you haven't checked out her blog you have got to and she's got a new hat blog too. I bought Allie three and could not be happier! Thanks Veronica...I love what you did for my little girl..you are such a thoughtful person and I'm so thankful that I found your blog!

By this time Allie was tired of me taking hats on and off her...so she decided to play with them :)

Also I just found out today that they are selling shirts for Veiyah..Ani posted it on her blog this morning. I got Allie a onesie that says V's Knees on it..they have onesies, toddler tshirts and adult sizes for girls and boys. They're only $15.00 so if you have followed along with V's story go and check out Ani's blog for more details. This little girl has just touched my heart in ways that I could not imagine for someone I have never even met...she's truly an inspiration.

A's and Chaos

Lucas got report cards this week. Straight A's again...we told him if he got them for the entire year then he could pick what prize he wanted so the other night at the dinner table I asked him what he was thinking about if he were to get them on his last report card. He went from a book to a Wii....oh my we could be in trouble! Talk about two opposite ends of the spectrum...of course I probablly didn't help matters much when I sarcastically said "you will have gotten straight A's for the entire year and you can have anything you want and you pick a book?" Maybe I should of just kept my mouth shut.

He had been riding the bus this year..his grandmother takes him to school in the mornings and then he rides the bus home. He came home the other day and said that some 5th grader was teasing him that the watch Lucas was wearing was stolen. He pulled out a cell phone and told Lucas that he was going to call the cops on him because he had stolen the watch. Lucas told him that he didn't steal it but that his grandmother had given it to him for his birthday but the kid kept saying that he had stolen it and apparently pretended to call 911. Lucas came home and told me about it...he really didn't seem upset about it but it was enough for me to take him off the bus. Jacob starts kindergarten next year and I wasn't going to let him ride the bus anyway so I would have been picking them up anyways so I figured I'd go ahead and start now. What is it with some kids nowadays..why do they behave like they don't have anything in between their ears and why do they pick younger children to pick on? I don't get it! Aggravates me to no end.

Big Girl

Yes I did take my camera to the doctor...I told you guys the other day that my husband gets on me about taking it everywhere but I just can't help it. I absolutely love this picture!!!!

We're back...all four of us and believe it or not we're in one piece and everyones happy..well for the time being that is since it's almost naptime for Caleb and Allie. Of course Allie will only sleep for 30 minutes and then she'll be up and into everything again...life's great!

Allie's healthy and her ears are great. Her doctor said that everything looked good and that we can start on trying to give her some table food gradually..Allie's never really been very excited over baby food so we're hoping that she'll develop a liking to table food alittle better. Caleb was like that...he started 100% on table food at 10 months and would never go back. Allie had a weird breathing incident yesterday that I was alittle worried about and I mentioned that to her doctor but she seems to think it's nothing. I watched her closely yesterday afternoon and night and didn't notice anything else. When I was changing her diaper she went from breathing fine one minute to rapidly the next and making little short almost gruntlike sounds at the same time. She did this for a minute or so and then went back to breathing normally. It was odd and scary to say the least but she was fine the rest of the night. Her doctor told me to watch for cough, runny nose or fever and if it's accompanied by the breathing then we'll check it out further. She thinks maybe she just swallowed alittle too much saliva or something and that was why she was doing it.

Anyhow...today was her 9 month visit even though she's 10 months now. She weighed 24.4 lbs,was 29.75 inches long and her head was 17.72 inches around. She's growing great and is already weighing what Caleb weighs right now Her doctor thinks she's at her chubbiest right now and as she starts moving around more she'll shed the weight quickly. I like her the way she is now though so maybe she'll stay that way for a while :)
