Animal Fanatic

Allie absolutely loves animals!!! Cats or Dogs..small or large she doesn't care. She will let them lick her all over and just sit and laugh. I've never seen someone that was so fond of these little ones. These are two of my parents dogs and Allie just loves them! They're little lickers and she loves when they come up and try to give her kisses all over her face. At home she constantly tries to play with our dog,Bandit. Most of the time he gets aggravated at her...he'll sit and growl telling her to leave him alone but of course she doesn't do it. He doesn't do more than growl bless his heart..he just puts up with her before realizing she won't stop until he gives her kisses :) This little girl might just be a veterinarian or something!

Wordless Wednesday One Day Late

Blessed

I've been extremely blessed in my life to have wonderful supportive parents. Although I haven't always realized it in the moment,especially when I was younger,they were always there for me. I've been blessed to have not only a wonderful mom and dad but to also have a select few others that have made an astronomical difference in my life.

One of those is my stepmom...Mom to me...she's been around since before I was one and although I'll admit that growing up with divorced parents wasn't the easiest thing I've come to cherish her. When I was younger we disagreed more than we agreed on things...we had more to argue about than we did in common but in the end it brought us closer together. After all these years I've found a best friend...someone that is there for me regardless...someone that treats my children like gold and loves my family as much as I do. She has taken my into her heart and never treated me any different than if I were her own blood....there is absolutely no difference been her and my biological parents...she is my Mom as much as my biological mom is my mom and my dad is my dad. What a true blessing in life.

When we were over at my dad's a couple of weeks ago she was outside playing with Caleb and Allie...I got some great pictures of her playing with Allie....I could never repay her for everything she's brought into my life and for the friendship that she's given me. She has fibromyalgia and even though she knows after she plays with them and holds them on their command that she'll probably not be able to move the next day it never stops her from getting on the ground and playing with them.

Bumped Up

Allie hurt her ear on Halloween night. We're still really not sure how it happened but the best we can figure out is that the kids were playing around the porch swing and she got hit. It immediately swelled up and turned every nasty color in the book. The next morning the swelling was down but it was unbelievable how nasty it looked. I've never ever seen anyone with a bruised ear before but she really scored one. We are almost a week later and it is just now improving...still very noticeable bruising and about 5 different colors but slowly improving. First time for everything!

Pumpkin Carving

We carved our pumpkin the night before Halloween. We would usually do more than one but with as busy as things have been this year I just grabbed a pumpkin when I was at Walmart and we only did one this year.

Lucas insisted that he wanted to draw the face on it and had been drawing and practicing on paper all afternoon so we just that he had something fabulous planned....we were in for a surprise! He started drawing...he drew and drew and drew.

Then we got our big shock of the night.

We had to ask him to be sure...."Luke..what's up with the mouth and nose?" Okay well let's just stay it didn't stay quite like that. Daddy fixed it up alittle...even after carving you can still see the original though so Lucas' contribution stayed put.

Allie was obsessed with the pumpkin once the top came off of it. She kept looking down inside and was amazed at what she was seeing. Not to mention that she was convinced she could pick it up!!!!

Halloween

We only got in about an hour of trick or treating this year before getting soaked! It rained all day long Saturday until about 2 hours before it got dark...when we started out it was dry and the skies were clear but it didn't stay that way for long. We got through about 7 houses before it started sprinkling but kept on because it wasn't anything major....YET. I had left the umbrella at the house since it wasn't raining and the skies looked clear and that was my big mistake! As we got further away the sprinkling became alittle heavier house by house. We got to the end of the street when it started pouring down rain. We walked about 1/2 a mile back home in the downpour and got soaking wet. By the time we got back home everyone and everything was drenched...as we emptied the kids buckets there was about 1/2 inch of water in each one...made for alot of the candy getting thrown out. Interesting Halloween was had by all here in the South. The kids had fun though..they were alittle disappointed that they didn't get more candy but in the end we parents thought they had enough....good side is we won't have candy around our house for another month...my waistline is thankful for that.

This is a local house near us that went all out decorating for Halloween. He's apparently a lawyer around town and I have never seen anything like this before. He has a full size plane in his front yard and a hearse with a real coffin. Crazy stuff if you ask me!!!!! He had even more than this but I didn't want to get too gory here...some of it was really creepy!

Also in case you haven't noticed I got a new look. I won a blog makeover from Kelly over at Two kids a Minivan and Alot of Love and I just love it! She was awesome to work with and made sure I was completely happy with everything. I never even saw the stuff before she started...I just gave her an idea of colors and off she went.
