I'm Gonna Miss This

It's been a long 10 days - there were moments I thought I'd never make it through another day during our unexpected ice vacation however there were so many wonderful things about it at the same time. You see tomorrow morning at 6:45 am everything starts back - the kids have to get up and head back to school and the last 10 days will be over.

There will be no more not worrying about bedtimes, not worrying about whether lunches are made, not worrying about if laundry is done or homework is completed. No more sleeping late or having not a care in the world about a schedule - it will all come to a hault at bedtime tonight.

On one hand I'm ready to get back on a schedule - our house has taken a hit over these last 10 days. I haven't done much of anything in the cleaning area other than wiping the kitchen down, cleaning the toilet, doing laundry and cooking dinner. I haven't even taken down our Christmas decorations yet - it's pitiful I know! Things need to be cleaned and scrubbed and organized - it's going to be a long process. I have the big consignment sale coming up that I haven't even started on so it's time to kick my butt into gear. On the other hand I'll miss these days of no schedules and nowhere to go. It'll be back to the grind with homework and car lines and studying for endless tests and projects - that I don't miss!

Is it summer yet?

Oh, Stephanie, I know how you feel! That's how I was feeling when Christmas break was coming to an end. I was asking when summer was too!!!

I would've enjoyed the time off here more if I'd have gotten out of work paid also. :)

There are days (days that I read about it on facebook and blogs) that i miss, really miss, snow days...so much fun! The hanging out, the no schedules, the snow playing and hot chocoalte drinking tv watching days...so carefree...so much fun! As for summer...80 days (school days that is) and counting for us!! lol

I totally know how you feel! Alyssa is going back to school on Wednesday after a loooong 4 week holiday break. It's been such a great vacation for me too, not having to wake up at the crack of dawn!

Don't you just hate it that when the kids have homework and projects, you have homework and projects?!! Hope the transition goes as smoothly as possible for you all. :)

WOW 10 days!! Craziness! I'm sure they enjoyed the extra little break though. Down south here we were freakishly snowed in for 6 days finally it's over!

I know what you mean Steph. I was cooped up with my little boys several years ago after we had already had Christmas and then ice, which left us also without electricity! It was interesting to say the least!

I will remember that for a long time! Cherish it! It will amaze you at what you can live through! ; )
