My Sweet Red Girl

Can we ever catch a break? Allie's been fussy and very tired for the last 4-5 days. She started over the weekend running a fever and throwing up. I took her to the doctor Monday morning and they thought it was probably just a virus so they wanted me to watch her for a couple more days(since of course we don't use antibiotics around our house unless absolutely necessary). Last night she started breaking out in a rash but I thought it was just heat rash since we've been at the ballpark so much and it's been in the 90s everyday here. This morning it had spread so I called the doctor back and took her in. She's got roseola and the doctor said it will probably spread more before it gets better...all this while teething too. Bless her heart...I just wish I could take it away from her because she looks miserable! Apparently roseola is the virus and it starts with a cold/upper respiratory thing then goes to a high fever and then the rash. I hope it disappears soon....we need a break around here(of course I'd take this anyday just to have her in my life)!

That is a strange coincidence because Jordyn got the same exact thing the day before her birthday.

The good news is that by the time the rash shows up, the child is on the upswing. Allie should be a happy girl soon. Hope you catch a break soon...between injuries, rashes and huge scares, you have to be a basket case! :)

Sweet baby...what a bummer. Be sure to watch your other kids. I think that it is contageous before the rash appears, which means she was contageous at the end of last week and over the weekend. Hope she feels better soon!

Charli Beth did the exact same thing about a year and a half ago (during the fall I believe). She had received a shot of penicillin a day or two before and for some reason they told me it was an allergic reaction from it. I've never really thought that it was an allergic reaction being that it should of came up a lot quicker than two days later. I hope your little one gets here very soon and teething isn't to hard on her! She is so adorable though!

Sorry to hear about Allie feeling so yucky. One of my nieces had roseola when she was little too. The same exact thing happened...a fever for days, and then the bumps appeared. The good news is that it should be down hill from there once the bumps have come. I will be praying for your sweet girl:)

On the bright side, once they get the rash they've been through the worst of it and should be feeling much better. Hope things settle down at your house soon.

Poor thing. That's what Tyler had. They say once the rash starts they feel fine.

I just want to come take you away for a nice massage and pedicure! You sure do need it. Poor little Allie-Bug, I hate that she has such a yucky rash. Hang in their sweetie.. things will hopefully soon calm down and you can get some much needed Stephanie time.

Poor thing! I hope it goes away soon, for her sake and for yours.

With 4 kids, it is neverending. We have spent so much on hospital, doctor, and medicine that it is unreal. Our flex account was empty in May this year. We will have to allot more next year. Good luck with the roseola (is that what it is called?)
