Recovering!

I feel like I'm still recovering from Friday. We did Black Friday again this year...this was David's first year going with me though. The past few years my mom and I have gone but I wanted David to be able to experience it this year so I convinced him to go along with me. I tried to prepare him as best I could yet I told him he still wouldn't understand until he got out there that morning and saw it with his own eyes...of course afterwards he was still in shock and couldn't believe that it was real. He said he had fun though...he'll actually go with me again next year :) We got up at 230 and headed out Friday morning. Everything went really well and we got about 85% of our Christmas shopping for the kids done. That's really all we're doing this year is for kids...not so much for the adults this year. It's been a tough year work and money wise around the house this year so it's important that the kids have a good Christmas and we're focusing on them. I am so blessed to have parents in my life that are supportive and make sacrifices for my family in times of trouble. Even though it's been a tough year in many ways we've all made it through. So it's Saturday night and I still feel like I'm behind....I'm tired and absolutely worn out right now. I love Black Friday...it's a blast and an absolute adrenaline rush but it takes me days to recover. Maybe I'll catch up with everything in the days ahead. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving...we had a fabulous time and ate way too much!!!! Now it's runny noses all over our house...Allie's been miserable all day long and Caleb is beginning to come down with it too. Praying she sleeps through the night tonight!!

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that you're getting sick at your house. What a bummer.

Glad y'all had a great Thanksgiving and great Black Friday, too. I'm wishing I had ventured out early and gotten the "full experience" of it, too... But alas, I was a chicken and waited too late and missed all the good deals.

I love black friday! I used to work at Best Buy for 4 years and had to work. The last two years I have gotten to shop. Its insane and crazy but fun :) Glad you both had a good time, I don't think my husband would ever go with me.

I decided sleep was a better option this year ;) I did venture out to JoAnn fabrics later though and got some GREAT deals on fleece and flannel to make PJ's and burp cloths.

Don't forget that you are truly blessed beyond measure and that our Lord will never leave or forsake you - He is good! Lately, when I feel discouraged, I remind myself of all the little blessings God has given me and realize that He has given me WAY more than I deserve.

So thankful for you, Stephanie - your friendship and encouragement as we've "gotten to know" each other has meant so much to me. I hope your little ones feel better soon - my daughter doesn't seem to be too bothered by her cold, but I just hate hearing her cough in her sleep.

It was CRAZY with a capital K this year. I have never seen it so busy. Amazing. I was up at 4 and home at 3 in the afternoon. Boy I am still recovering too. I only have 2 more gifts to get and then I am done...woo hoo. Hope the babies are feeling better soon.

Yeah,Corey usually goes with me but decided he would rather stay home with the kids. Toys R Us was CRAZY at midnight! People were fighting and the police had to be called.I love shopping though:)

Glad you had a great time!

Rest up and hope you are all feeling better soon!! 85 percent done is pretty admirable! We mostly do kids too for Christmas, and I get a lot of enjoyment just in that!

I'm glad he had fun! I don't mind black friday at all!
I know what you mean about it being tough this year! We are not really buying for each other this time, we are also focusing on the kids. I am EXCITED for my kids...and...besides...when someone asks me what I want for Christmas, I dont really have anything to tell them. (anything realistic i mean). I have everything I need, and many many things that I want. I am happy that my kids will have a christmas!

We've made the decision to focus on the kids more, too. That's where the real fun is! :)
