Checkup

I've got to take Allie to the doctor this morning for her 9 month checkup. Seriously everytime I have an appointment somewhere I wonder if I had a brain relapse when we had more than one child. I am always in awe of people that have multiple children and never hesitate to go out and about during the day. I only go when I have to by myself with the kids and still try to find every way around it possible in order to avoid having to leave the house. I know as Allie gets older it won't be as complicated but right now Allie and Caleb both need me 100%. Caleb of course is not old enough that I can not watch him every single second and not worry about him...heck what am I saying...Jacob isn't even there yet and he's 5. I won't be surprised if they say that Allie's ears are messed up...she went through a couple of weeks where she was constantly playing with them and not sleeping well. She wasn't running a fever and was teething so I just watched her and she has improved. She still isn't sleeping completely through the night but she has made huge strides in sleeping from a couple of months ago and she isn't fussy anymore. She's had a horrible diaper rash the last couple of days but it's improving also. I'm anxious to see how much she weighs this time..seems like she's packing on the pounds on a daily basis now! So once again we're heading off to the doctor..if I'm lucky I'll come back with the same number of children that I left with and we'll all be in one piece.

Ha,Ha, that was a cute comment you wrote at the end there! :) I would totally understand your situation about not leaving the house with that many children. Heck I was so hesitant to take my newborn out that first month by myself because I was a new mother & didn't know a whole lot. I couldn't emagine having that many children & going somewhere. Might be hectic for me. lol Good luck @ the doctors office.

I can completely relate as a mom of five. When I have four kids they were all five and under. I never left the house alone with all four of them unless it was a matter of life and death. We have two that are 18 months apart too. Then we waited four years and we now have a nine month old little girl. Some days you feel like your sanity has left you but God gets you through and what a precious gift he's given you in you four beautiful kids. Enjoy the moments. They grow so fast.

Your so right - At the age our kids are at right now is sometimes very hard to juggle by yourself out in public. I have done it a few times only because I braved it and it was HORRIBLE! Brea wanting to jump out the buggy or throw herself in the floor while I had Brody on my hip! Awful! I know your feeling. :o)

I look back at myself as a young mom and think "you were nuts!" I used to take the kids out ALL the time...I felt claustrophobic if I was stuck at home all day.

Now, most of my kids are in school, and I'm a homebody. I'm so weird! :)

I just have one...and it's hard to run in and out of places...so I wait til I can go pick my mom up and take her with us.

You are AMAZING to coordinate 4 kids. Seriously. How do you do it?

I try really hard not to leave the house with my girls by myself. Every once in awhile, it goes smoothly. Most of the time though, they both are whining and screaming towards the end of our outing and I'm ready to pull my hair out.

Good luck!
