Carrots and Puffs

Well when we went to the doctor last week Allie's doctor said that I should try to start introducing her to table food so we tried the other night. I was extremely nervous and honestly I don't know why...she's not my first and I've fed 3 others for the first time in previous eight years so I shouldn't be uptight about it but I was. I was terrified!!!! I was so scared that she was going to choke or something was going to happen and I would panic and not know what to do. Anyhow..we started with diced carrots. I put them on her plate and she played with them for a while but couldn't connect the dots that you had to pick them up and actually put them in your mouth. I put the first one in her mouth and she DID NOT like it at all!!! I couldn't help but laugh when I saw her face. I tried a couple more but she never really warmed up to them so I took them off her plate. After that we put those Gerber Graduates Puffs on her plate and she immediately knew that what she was supposed to do with them..she put the first one in her mouth and ate away. Every night since then she's snacked on them at dinnertime but still no carrots..we'll have to work on those.

That always made me scared too. I panic when the kids choke.

It's a whole new world from here on out! Look at her eating so good and healthy too! The fear thing is because your a great Mom and you are just precautious and that's fine. ;o) Our babies are getting so big Steph!!!

Abby loves the puffs. You should try the rice Krispies Jumbo Krispies. LOVE THEM! They are similar to the puffs and cheaper. Especially when you have a coupon. Abby loves these things. Another one is nutrigrain waffles cut up small. I also give her canned fruit like pears and peaches in their natural juice and just dice them. They make a mesh but are mushy enough for her to manage them without choking. Good Luck!

I miss those "I hate this!" looks that my kids used to give me when they were babies and trying out new foods. So cute!

Ugh. I know how the fear thing goes! I'm always nervous when I give my daughter new foods. Scared her face will puff up or she'll choke, etc.

Bayley LOVES cereal puffs. But you know what she loves even more? This won't surprise you if you have kids: chicken nuggets! I cut them up into tiny pieces and she will not play with them..they will all end up in her mouth. Sometimes she even looks like a hamster saving away for hibernation. lol.

I'd rather have something else besides carrots, too!

I've tried that with some banana and the puffs. Jackson seems to like the puffs better, and so do I since they aren't as messy!

Let me tell ya, I've shared those fears of choking and being scared of something happening. Honestly, I still get that way once in a while and my youngest is about to turn two.

The pictures are so cute. Your baby girl is darling!

Steph,

A new color!!! I'll let you in on a little secret....SILVER SAGE!!!

Shh. Don't tell anyone. I'm only telling you. But, if you go to restorationhardware.com type in Silver Sage and click on the picture of the paint cans. Then toggle over the color that says Silver Sage.

I highly recommend that color if you want something light, crisp, and easy to decorate with. It's very loftish.

Let me know what yout think.

I'm always worried about choking. Trevor hated the carrots too, but he's still in love with Puffs! Just way until she tries the yogurt bite...Fred & I even like them! :)
