She's a Sunbather

Baseball has started around our house and it's constant chaos right now. Lucas and Jacob are both playing and of course David's coaching both teams again. We were out at the park last weekend on Saturday morning for their practices..Lucas' starts at 9 and Jacob follows at 10. It was early and honestly I really didn't think about the sun. I can't use the excuse that it's been so long since I've had a baby that I haven't had to worry about it but it has been a VERY long time since I've had one with fair skin. Lucas was the last and that was 8 years ago. Jacob and Caleb took after David and they were blessed with darker skin tones so any sun they get immediately tans. One of my dear friends thought she noticed Allie's head was alittle red at the park so I moved her out of the sun but it quickly left my mind after that. Later on that night David brought her out of the bedroom and we noticed taht her face had gotten burnt. I about had a heartattack!!! I mean I felt horrible..she never acted like it bothered her and I loaded her up with lotion that night. The next day it was 90% soaked in and she was happy as could be. Needless to say I learned my lesson and will make sure she's always covered from now on. My precious little girl with her first sunburn.

Oh Boy! Don't feel too bad. I cooked my little one when she was 7 months old. She actually blistered. I was dying. We were bundled up in 45 degrees at a St. Patty's Day parade and it never would have occurred to me to slather sun screen on her. Oops!

Awww, she is so sweet. Look at those pink little cheeks. What a trooper...I forget the sunscreen all the time unless we are swimming. Ooops

Poor little Allie! Thanks for the reminder to go get more sunscreen. We didn't use any the other day when we took the girls to play tennis and I was so worried they'd get burned, too.
I'm glad it didn't bother your little one. :)

Poor thing!!! But you know, YOU probably feel worse than she does. Lesson learned, right?? I was so paranoid about Aidan's scar getting too much sun and looking funny that we never really brought him out in it. But it also helps that I live in Washington where the sun is a distant memory from my childhood... just kidding. But it's pretty easy to avoid it 'round here! : )

My kids have an olive undertone so I never even think about using sunscreen. I should though!!

Sounds super-busy! :-) but fun!

Your little girl's sweet little cheeks are just adorable - I want to squeeze them - haha except they're burnt so that wouldn't feel very good probably :-)

Oh yes! That SC sun will get you before you even know it. Kinda like when your on the beach and it sneaks up on you. What a little cutie.

I know how that goes! I can't tell you how many times I have not thought about it either!! I always have it in my purse!! Hope she doesn't peel and it doesn't bother her!

Oh, poor baby! I've got the super fair skin so I know how easy it is to get burned. That sun just sneaks up on you, especially when you're not used to a fair skinned child. Amazingly, my little girl has her daddy's skin. The boys, unfortunately, will probably have to deal with tons of sunscreen summer after summer...they take after their albino momma! :)
