Two Wheelin It

One of Jacob's training wheels fell off alittle over a week ago. He was gone to his grandparents last week so when he got home on Friday he was ready for his Daddy to take the other off. He bugged him nonstop until David finally got around to it. While he was taking it off he talked to Jacob about riding and how it was going to take some time to get used to riding with two wheels..that it took practice and he would fall several times before he got the hang of it. Jacob reassured his Dad that he knew and it was okay. The wheel came off and Jacob got on and off he went. He hasn't stopped since...I kid you not! He got on that bike the first time and took off like he'd been riding for years and years. Our jaws fell open...I've never seen anything like it before! He turned-he started-he stopped-he did it all and never fell once..he didn't wobble or shake just rode like he was born to. We took him riding that night in the cul de sac and it was like he was a pro....I videoed it also but I can't get it to load for some reason so the pics will have to suffice. Here's my 5 year old that can't slow down for a second and stay a baby anymore.

Yes this is Jacob and Lucas racing...it is as it appears and Jacob is in front and he had only been on his bike for an hour since his training wheels were off :) Lucas started calling him "The King of Bikes"

Caleb peddles with his feet on the ground. He scares me that he's going to get hurt but he's always done it like that. David showed him how to pedal with the actual pedals and he did it for a few minutes and then quickly transitioned back to his feet. I told him he reminded me of Fred Flintstone...he's fast too...so fast he scared me to death on the actual road instead of just the backyard.

Of course David had to try Jake's bike out too...silly man!

Oh how cool!!!! Cam was fast and just took to it naturally. He took a few tumbles and spills but learned at 4 years old. Riley on the other hand.... tumbled, gave up. Tried a year later, tumbled, gave up. Finally learned at age NINE, but hey, at least she finally did!

Yay! That is so cool. Your little boy is growing up. That is just awesome that he just took off like that!

This week I've been trying to get out and get some exercise and Alyssa's been riding her bike while I push Audrey in the stroller. We go around the neighborhood and Alyssa has a great time. She's still pretty new to riding her bike, but it's just kinda funny to see our little ones riding their bikes, like big kids. Kinda makes your heart swell with pride that they're learning something new, yet it's also a sad feeling at the same time! :)

That was exactly like my youngest son! It took him seconds to get the hang of it. I think some kids are just more coordinated than others..lol.

What cute pictures of your men!!!

Paul was just trying to get Zoe to ride her bike with her training wheels off the other night. She wanted no part of it!

So proud of Jacob. What a brave little boy. He's sure to have many adventures on his big boy bike!
