Summer Days

We took the kids swimming a couple of weeks ago for the first time. There's a pool in the backyard and we don't use it as often as the kids would like for us to. Of course they could swim everyday and never get tired of it. This was the first time that Allie got in the water so of course my camera was present. At first she was very hesitant and even cried a couple of times. Eventually she warmed up to it and absolutely loved the water...she had so much fun splashing around and was soaking me with water by the end. It was also the first time that Caleb got in after our near drowning incident. I was very nervous and had no idea how he'd react..at first he didn't want anything to do with the water but I finally got him to come in so I could hold him and once we got him in his boat it was all over. He absolutely loved it and he and Allie had lots of fun chasing after each other. The older two had a couple of their infamous time outs for jumping and splashing around in Allie's face but all in all everyone had a great time!

The two speed racers...I have since seen that Caleb's float has been recalled...I haven't gotten rid of it yet but he hasn't been in it again either. I need to throw it away and find him another one before he gets in again.

This is by far my favorite picture of Allie!!!!!! I absolutely love this one!

As you can see Caleb is double protected! I'm taking no chances!!!!

You can't see everyone very well but it's one of the few that all the kids are actually in the same spot. Documentation purposes for me of course :)

Once she got a smile on her face it was glued on there! She absolutely adores the bathtub so I wondered how she would do and when she was scared I was worried at first. Thank goodness she ended up having so much fun!

I'm so glad that everyone had fun. Leala was somewhat scared at first too.. She wouldn't let go of me.. But she loves pools now.. We're even thinking about going to Hurricane Harbor this week. :)

Wow, that is a BIG pool! I love it! I WOULD be out there every day if we had one like that :) You are spot on about that photo of Allie, gorgeous! How fun for all of you!

My family LOVES the water, too! Glad y'all had a good time.

Cameron had that same green and yellow float when he was a baby - I guess before the recall. If it flips on them, does it pin them upside down? If so, I wonder if his little lifejacket will be strong enough to upright him if he's underneath that big other thing. How scarey! SWIMMING LESSONS QUICK! ha ha ha

Have a great summer!

Your right! That picture of Allie is just as precious as it can be. The weather was perfect for a nice chilled pool this weekend for sure. Glad you guys had a great time. Oh, where on earth is your swimsuit? Silly self.

Looks like summer fun! It has been so hot here that the pool feels more like a bathtub! Glad they all loved it.

You have this in your backyard, and it's the first time you've been in it this summer? My kids would have been nagging me every single day to go swimming. I'm so glad that Caleb was able to get back in the pool and enjoy it.

Allie looks absolutely adorable in that bathing suit. Every time I'm at the store, I'm tempted to buy Jordyn another bathing suit and have to hold myself back. After all, how many bathing suits does a gal need? :)

The picture from my blog was indeed Jordyn. We have no idea why she was looking between her legs, but it was funny to watch! Gotta love this age!

For my fireworks photos, I just put it on the ACTION setting. It worked great. My camera is a Cannon 40D, so it's a pretty GOOD camera, but even last year on my lesser camera I still got some great shots. (those are on last year's 4th of July blog).

Best of luck with yours!

Can I just tell you how hard it's been to get on your blog today? My computer is acting so weird, and your blog was the only one that wouldn't load for me. Frustrating!!!

Anyhow...I just love the pics and I'm with you on LOVING the same one of Allie that you do. Too cute! Glad to see you in a couple of pics. You should do that a little more often:)
