I HEART Faces-Bundled Up!!!!!!

I HEART Faces is a photography website that holds weekly contests for those pictures that we love the most. This weeks theme is "Bundled Up" and it's all about the cold weather we're all ready to leave behind for the year.

This is from the only good snow we got this year-we got about 4 inches and that is a lot of snow for SC!!!!!! Caleb had a blast in it and all he cared about was building him a Frosty!

Allie wasn't a huge fan of the snow but she enjoyed tasting it for a while.

5 Question Friday

I am so happy it's Friday!!!!! And not only because that means we have two days off but because it means we are one complete week into our kitchen remodel and one week closer to being done! That's the best part of all!!!!!!

Head over to Mama M's blog and join in on the question fun.

1. How much time do you spend on the computer a day?

Honestly-because I suppose I have to be honest here it varies from day to day. There are days I absolutely can't spend the time I'd like on the computer and then I dive into it at night after the kids go to bed and my husband gets mad at me for it. Then there are days I sit at my desk much longer than I should and try to catch up on blogs. Most days I get on in the morning while the kids are still in bed(if I'm lucky enough for them to sleep a little late) and then I get on again after they go to bed-usually as soon as I pick it up at night Allie will wake up and I'll have to put her in the bed with us which very quickly ends my computer time! I get stressed if I get behind on reading blogs-I don't know why but I like to be current on everything which hasn't happened much lately.
2. Will you pay for your children's college or raise them to pay for their own way?

I'd love to pay for their college though I'm not sure how we'll handle that when the time comes. Ideally I'd like to put money aside and have it there for them when they get older but we haven't been very good about that yet. I know college prices are only going to go sky high as they get older so I'd love to help take some of that load off of their shoulders!

3. Have you ever been in a car accident?

Nope-knock on wood!

4. What is your favorite book?

I love me a murder mystery book!!! James Patterson and Jilliane Hoffman are two of my favorites. I've started reading Twilight though and I hear once you start you never go back.

5. Do you make your bed everyday?

Yes!!!!! There is nothing I can't stand more than walking into the bedroom and the beds not being made. It makes me feel like things are much more organized and ready for the day when they are made! I hate getting into a messy bed and looking at one all day long-things feel so out of order.

Kitchen Remodel of 2010 Part 1

Bright and early Monday morning we started remodeling the kitchen. I knew from the very beginning things were going to be hectic yet I don't think I realized just how insane it was going to be. We started out thinking it was going to take a week and a half or so and now we're at probably at least 2 1/2 to 3. The babies are at home with me during the day so we of course had to leave in order to be able to function and for the men to work. Bless my parents hearts they have opened their house up to me and allowed me to come to their house during the days and even offered for us to stay at night.

Every morning at 8 am I pack up Caleb and Allie and our car and head down the interstate to Greer for the day. At 215 everyday I make the trip again back home to get Lucas and Jacob off the bus and then come back to Greer for homework and the rest of the afternoon. About 430 or 5 we head back down the interstate one final time and head somewhere to eat(eating out every night is interesting enough in and of itself) and take baths in time for bed. All to start again the next day.

You will see-the house is completely unfunctional! It's insane and I can't believe I didn't picture it this way. We are staying at my dad's this weekend because long term during the day the kids can't be in the house. You can't even move in my living room right now. The kitchen table is currently in the middle of the living room floor with things that were in the cabinets stacked on top of it. The old cabinets were in the middle of the floor yesterday and everything is piled wherever we can possibly find a spot.

It's going to be worth it in the end- I just can't wait for that to get here!!!!

Here's the before picture: One of the big things we wanted done was for all the brown beams on the top to come out. They were purely decoration but magnet dust catchers and impossible to keep clean!

Here's at the end of the first day. Brown beams are gone and wow there was almost an echo. So happy to not see beams everywhere!!!!

View from the living room. Everything is piled everywhere possible!!!

End of day 2: floor beginning to come up.

Many more remodel pictures to come soon.

I've Given In

I've heard all about it. Everywhere I look I see previews. I was in Target the other day and there it was once again staring me down and I gave up. I'm going to try it and just see what all the fuss is about.

I always thought that it was for the teenage/tween group but I have heard from so many adults that have read the series how absolutely addicting and wonderful they are so I figure I might as well give it a try.

5 Question Friday

It's finally Friday-whoo what a week and time for 5 Question Friday. Head over to Mama M's blog and join in on the fun...after you finish here of course :)

1. What's your guilty pleasure?

Goodness do I have a list-I am inlove with Swiss Cake Rolls-you know those Little Debbie ones that once you eat them leave you not so little anymore. I remember when I was little I'd come home from school sit in front of the tv and eat a Swiss Cake Roll and have a coke. Too bad I can't eat just one anymore. For now I'm trying my darnedest to eat healthy so I've locked them in a safe for a rainy day!!! I could eat package after package of Peeps too-oh my when I was pregnant with Allie I'd go through 3 packs a day. Speaking of which I think I need to find me some of those tomorrow!!!!

2. What is your favorite TV series?

I'm currently hooked on Mercy. It's new this year and comes on NBC on Wednesday nights at 8. I watch it while I'm trying to get Allie to go to sleep and I became hooked very quickly. I love me some Kardashians though-anything reality I could eat up!

3. Can you speak any foreign languages?

Does Hola/Adios/Muy Bien and counting to 10 count? That's about all I know. I took Spanish for 3 years in high school but I got the ditziest teacher on the earth so I really didn't come away with anything that could help me out now. If I was in Spain and needed to use it I'd be screwed!

4. How many pairs of shoes do you own?

Not nearly enough! How I'd love to have an endless budget and go shoe shopping-most days I'm at home in my socks other than when I'm wrangling 4 kids at a store and about to pull my hair out then I'm likely to look down and see my slippers since I forgot to change.

5. What's your favorite kind of M&M's...peanut, almond, straight up regular, etc.?

I can eat very large quantities of M&M's-put peanut butter M&M's in front of me and they will disappear quickly!! I have been through stages though-peanut and peanut butter would have to be my favs!!!!

3 Sprouts

Allie's hair is a daily battle! It's very fine and of course we have all seen her bedhead before.

I put clips in it yet she constantly pulls them out so the only way I can keep half her head of hair out of her eyes is to put it up in a pigtail. I usually only do one on the top of her head which reminds me of Pebbles from the Flintstones. I adore the way she looks when she has one pigtail but the other day I decided I wanted to try and put more in.

She actually sat still while I did it and I managed to get three "sprouts" in there. I love the result-adorable! Somedays it still hits me like a slap in the face-I'm doing a girls hair. I'm brushing tangles out and put leave in conditioner in. I'm using clips/barrettes/and rubberbands-Wow! I never thought the day would come!

I HEART Faces-Hilarious Outtakes

I HEART Faces is a photography blog that holds weekly contests for amateur and professional photographers alike. This weeks category is Hilarious Outtakes and this picture immediately came to mind. It's not professional quality by any means and I didn't even take it-my mom did in the delivery room but it will always stick out in my mind!!!

Caleb had just been born and David was of course beaming. He was standing right at the warming table looking over him admiring his new pride and joy.

Until.........Yep that's right David had his face right down there glaring at his beautiful son as he began peeing right in his face!!!! I think he got the shock of a lifetime!

These are the kind of memories that I absolutely cherish! It's what family is all about!!! Head over to I HEART Faces and join in on the fun this week.
