2 days ago I ventured down that unknown road. Let me say that I'm not a science person. I hated each and every second spent in a science class every day of my life. I'm not exaggerating! Lucas, on the other hand is a science whiz. That boy could talk about space, weather and water cycles each and every minute of his life and never tire. Me - well it goes right over my head. So it's drastically underestimating it when I say I wasn't excited to put this telescope together.
I swallowed my excitement and drug the box from the shed to our living room and pulled the manual out. In my opinion only science lovers should be the ones to put these things together - seriously it was like I was reading pig latin the entire time. What normal functioning person knows what polar axis, azimuth base or a declination lock is????????? And it doesn't help when the manual obviously is made for someone that has some clue as to what they are doing. It is clear that a normal everyday human is not to understand these things.
However after a couple of hours and much confusion the telescope was assembled CORRECTLY (I think) and put in it's rightful place in Lucas' room. Now for me, well I don't care if I ever see a telescope again!

I'm impressed you got that together! No way would I even attempt it! I'm not a science person either! LOL!
Ha ha! That is something I would do! My kids have gotten things before and I found them months later still in the box! That looks like a very nice telescope! Good job putting it together:)
Looks like a pretty cool telescope.
