The first thing I thought of today for some reason was what we were doing a year ago today. I started clicking through my pictures looking for this specific one...I thought I had one of Allie in her 4th dress but I must not have for some reason. This was when we were sitting out in the driveway watching the fireworks..surprisingly she wasn't scared at all...she sat and watched the entire time.
I'm amazed at where she's at a year later. Just today she's taken great strides in walking...she's been cruising behind her walker like never before. She's much smoother today and has done it several times without falling much at all. I'll admit she was much easier to take care of then but she's worth every second of it.
We didn't do much today and really don't have big plans for tomorrow either. After the last few weeks of constant baseball it's been nice to have a break. I got out this morning with the boys and cleaned out a flowerbed in the backyard and went through toys that were old and didn't work anymore outside. Then we grilled hamburgers for dinner with french fries and made homemade oreo ice cream for dessert. We didn't buy fireworks this year...just wasn't in the budget but were going to go out and watch them. The boys behavior, however, changed our plans so we stayed home tonight. They were told they could watch them from the driveway if someone on our street was doing them instead. Caleb and Allie are already in bed and I'm praying they stay there with all the pops going on outside. The doggy is already in bed too...people around us started doing the pop things about 5 this afternoon and he's been stuck to someones side shaking all afternoon.
So I hope everyone has had a wonderful 4th and a great weekend! I have tons to catch up on with blogging that has fallen by the wayside with baseball lately and I'm hoping to be able and catch up on that some this coming week. There should be lots of pictures coming :)
Here's the boys in their umpteenth timeout of the day. This was after they lost fireworks(they accomplished that at the dinner table)and now they were being threatened with no ice cream. They sat still until it was done but of course got some :)
I love this...he dug into his ice cream!!!
Allie loved hers too!!! She had some of Daddy's and was a complete mess by the time it was all over.
As I was getting ready to press publish blog this is what I looked over and saw. He's been in the living room for about 5 minutes now complaining about how tired he is but his Daddy and brother are still up watching the end of the race and he didn't want to go into his room by himself so he was trying to tough it out. You see what happened :) He had a long day and most importantly 3 cups of ice cream so he's tired out...I just love this little boy!

I love that last picture... guess he didn't see the big wreck
Sounds like you had a relaxing day...love the ice cream faces. Too cute. Wow what a difference a year makes. allie has changed so much!
Homemade icecream is the best! We had strawberry last night and loved it. We should do that more often than just on a holiday:)
This is the 1st time in over a week I have been able to access your blog - the header and everything but the post would come up, so I have had to catch up this morning:)
Glad to get you back.
Yum..homemade Oreo ice cream?
Oh my gosh, someone in the neighborhood started shooting off fireworks early too, and my puppy was totally shaking also! I felt so bad for her!!
Glad you had a nice relaxing day. The ice cream sounds YUMMY!!!
Precious pictures! I read this last night in my reader and was thinking how little she was and she's getting bigger.
The fireworks don't seem to bother our dogs, except it makes our beagle bark if they are really loud.
However, our previous beagle was terrified of them, as was the dog before her.
Oh, and tomorrow is another day so hopefully I'll get lots done!
Love seeing the pic of Allie. It all changes so fast, doesn't it? Love her pushing the walker. Aidan is STILL obsessed with his!
Cute pics of the boys in timeout - heehee!
Those are great! Glad you had a nice and relaxing 4th sweetie! You deserved a much needed break after b-ball season.
Awwwwwwwwwwww, they do grow up fast, don't they?
Looks like y'all had a great fourth - and by the looks of their faces, great food, too!
