Cops and Robbers

Jacob has been obsessed with cops since I can remember - literally since he was about 3 years old he would sit and watch Cops on tv with his Dad. He has always loved anything to do with police and there's nothing better than playing it. Well problem is that Lucas would play cops with Jacob but would quickly tire of it - he wasn't as big a fan as Jacob was.

                                                              Jacob getting arrested...

                                                                         and tasered.

Now - Jacob has a new best buddy - Caleb LOVES I mean LOVES to play cops. He is just like the mini me of Jacob. He sat on the couch last night and watched Cops on tv with his Daddy for well over an hour - not a peep out of his mouth.

                                                                Caleb being arrested...

                                                                 and taken to jail.

He'll go outside and they will have fake tasers - pretending like they are constantly tasering someone - it's hilarious to watch how much they get into it. Jacob will arrest Caleb and ask him if he has any drugs on him then search him. I think they've both found their match - Now they just have to keep it in the backyard!

Smores

Smores are one of my favorite things!!!! They are so yummy and ooey and gooey - it just doesn't get much better than that!

On the 4th we decided to do smores and the kids were ready to start way before dark - my kind of people I tell ya. So after my attempted photos and being made fun of by my husband the fire was started and the kids were primed and ready to go.

Last year Allie was just over a year old so she wouldn't really eat the smore - she stuck with the chocolate instead - this year though she actually took a bite out of it. She took a few bites though I don't think she was just crazy over them since she wasn't continuously going back for more and more. She'd rather eat the marshallows and chocolate than anything.

Caleb - well my Caleb - he's a case in and of himself. He was scared of the fire and wasn't big on the roasted marshallows because they were hot. He waned a graham cracker with JUST a marshmallow in it but it had to be a regular marshmallow, not roasted. You can imagine that :)

Here he is terrified of the fire! This marshmallow is roasted!!!! I like mine perfectly toasted on all side yet not burnt at all!!!! I'm picky!

And Caleb with his untoasted marshallow in his graham cracker sandwich

Overall everyone had a great time and we ate way too much - in fact they wanted to do smores again the next night - YUM O!!!!

4th Photo Attempts

On the 4th I wanted to get some pictures of all of the kids together. I had gotten flag shirts a while before at Old Navy and thought it was a good opportunity for a few pictures of all of them together. David laughed at me of course because he said he had never seen someone change their kids clothes just to take pictures right before they were going to do smores and mess them up anyways - oh well I'm here to put firsts in his life I suppose :)

I love Allie in this one - the 3 others are kinda out of it though

Now Lucas is in the picture and the remaining 3 are out of it

                                                         Jacob manhandling Caleb's head :)

                                                                  Caleb totally out of it!!

We headed outside and I could tell right away they weren't so into it - I was getting cheesy fake smiles the entire time so I just took what I could get.

As soon as we finished with the 4 of them Lucas scooted inside - he obviously wasn't into my idea of getting individual shots.

Ummm...yeah act like you actually know how to smile please!

                                                                 Thank you very much!

Caleb wasn't as into it either - he was more interested in laying down on the grass than anything which of course Allie had to do too :)

Cheesy smile!!!! but better than nothing at all I guess.

                                                            Monkey see....Monkey do

She was more interested in scooting than anything!

                                                                             Happy yet?

                                                                              Still no?

She really is girly in sooo many ways! She loves to have her finger and toenails painted and loves to do her hair and play with makeup and dolls but she always has a true rough side to her too - what do you expect she literally lives at the ballpark 90% of the year. She can hang with the boys too :)

And for good measure because out of all the others I got this one - I've shown it before and it doesn't show her face but it shows her true personality and has become one of my favorite pictures ever!!!!!

4th of July - Part 1

I'm finally posting about the 4th - so far behind! We didn't have big plans for the weekend because David was on call therefore we had to stay close to home. We also ended up fighting fleas on our dog and all over everything else in the house so I guess it was a good thing we didn't want to go anywhere.

The kids went with their grandmother and got fireworks so we actually did a few fireworks on the 3rd and the rest on the 4th. I didn't take picture of the ones the second time around.

Of course we swam and then we grilled out for dinner with burgers/beans/fries/corn on the cob and then we had smores for dessert! They are the yummiest things EVER! Allie and Caleb loved the fireworks the first night but decided they weren't loving them so much when the bigger and louder ones came out the second night.

There is nothing like spending time with the ones that you hold closest in this world.

More coming about my attempted picture taking on the 4th - otherwise this post would be overloaded with pictures.

5 Question Friday

FINALLY!!!!! It's Friday and we have an actual weekend!!!!!!!!!!! My husband doesn't have to work - Whoo Hoo!!!!! It's also time for 5 of the most random questions on earth so head over to My Little Life and join in on the fun :)

1. What is one food you could eat everyday?

I could eat Mexican pratically everyday for the rest of my life!!!! I could never ever get enough salsa and cheese dip to make me happy!

2. Are you working in the career you thought you would be when you were 18?

No Way! I never thought I would have 4 children and be a stay at home mom. I actually originally thought I'd be a teacher - guess in a lot of ways I am. I really do want to go back to school and do nursing but I want to wait until the kids get a little older I think. Might go ahead and start some online classes or something soon just to get them out of the way.

3. What is something that you wish you would have done when you were younger and you didn't?

I wish I would have slowed down! Realized that everything didn't have to happen right that second and life would be just fine if it didn't. Guess we all learn that the hard way sometimes.

4. What color are your kitchen walls?

Oh the story of the kitchen walls. Our kitchen was just remodeled and I had originally picked out a melonish color for the walls but it was way too cantaloupe(y) if that's even a word. We ended up going with a rich yellow color and I love it!!!!

5. Do you remember what your very first favorite song was?

Well the very first song I ever learned all the words to was Randy Travis' "Forever and Ever Amen" . So for a long time that was my favorite song simply because I could sing it :)
