Pumpkin Carving

We carved our pumpkin the night before Halloween. We would usually do more than one but with as busy as things have been this year I just grabbed a pumpkin when I was at Walmart and we only did one this year.




Lucas insisted that he wanted to draw the face on it and had been drawing and practicing on paper all afternoon so we just that he had something fabulous planned....we were in for a surprise! He started drawing...he drew and drew and drew.

Then we got our big shock of the night.




We had to ask him to be sure...."Luke..what's up with the mouth and nose?" Okay well let's just stay it didn't stay quite like that. Daddy fixed it up alittle...even after carving you can still see the original though so Lucas' contribution stayed put.





Allie was obsessed with the pumpkin once the top came off of it. She kept looking down inside and was amazed at what she was seeing. Not to mention that she was convinced she could pick it up!!!!

    That is sooo funny and cute :) Poor Lucas, he won't be able to deny it years from now! Yep, still want to eat her up, too cute!

    We didn't even carve pumpkins this year. Put a couple small ones on the porch. We made the most of Halloween this year with Skylar, but definitely missed the big kids.

    That brought back some memories! Our first son on his second Halloween would have nothing to do with the slimy stuff in the pumpkin! I have the cutest pic of his disgusted face!

    How fun! This year I got brave and handed the knife over to my daughter. She was so proud of her crooked face pumpkin:)

    Oh yea, I think she's just dying to get her little hands in that big ol' pumpkin!!!

    Cute pictures, and I love that original face. What a great photo. Glad you got it before y'all redrew it. He'll laugh at that someday.
