I'm in a place today that a year ago I never thought I'd be. Today David hit 9 months sobriety and the air is so much cleaner...the world is brighter and looking forward to tomorrow feels good. I'm amazed at what he's done and how far he has come...there's not a doubt in my mind that we wouldn't be where we are today without him working constantly at staying sober. I'm so thankful for what he has done for our family and how he has not only brought us together but held us tighter and made us closer!
I had no idea until now that you and I float in a very similar boat. My husband is an alcoholic. He was sober for almost three years and just relapsed this past May. I am and have been struggling with my marriage ever since. Definitely not an easy road to travel. I pray that you and David stay strong. My heart goes to you and your family.

ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing accomplishment! God is good...and His steadfast love endures forever! It always amazes me how He can take someone who's broken (which, truly, we all are at one point or another) and make us whole and new again.
